Each year, in conjunction with Vacation Bible School, St. John’s Church offers Vacation Choir Camp for 3rd – 6th grade students. In this week, the students get a taste of what is regularly done in the Girls and Boys Choirs of St. John’s. In addition, regular choristers have the opportunity to work on their musical skills. The morning begins with a brief worship service followed by musical rehearsals and activities. Following lunch the students take a field trip downtown to a museum or some other place of interest. The day ends with Evening Prayer. At the end of the week, the choristers sing a complete Evensong which demonstrates what they have learned throughout the week.
This program is open to both parishioners and non-parishioners regardless of musical ability or experience.
The 7th annual Vacation Choir Camp will be held on June 20 – 24, 2011.
