The Parish Choir is a mixed-voice ensemble of adults that sings most Sunday morning services, Choral Evensong services and holy day services. The Parish Choir is a mixed voice ensemble of adults who sing sacred classical music in the Anglican tradition and serve as the leaders of choral worship in Sunday morning services, choral evensong and holy day services. The choir sings music from the classical Western tradition, primarily that which is written for the Anglican Church but also music from the Lutheran and Latin Roman Catholic traditions. The choir is composed of volunteers from the parish who possess vocal and musical skills and commit to the regular schedule of rehearsals and services.is choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings, 7:30 – 9:00 p.m.

The Men and Boys Choir is the ensemble for 3rd grade – voice-change. Boys are taught to sing in the English manner with head voice, and sing sacred classical music as they share in the choral leadership of worship. Treble boys sing at the 10:30 a.m. service on the 2nd & 4th Sundays of the month. They also join with the Girls and High School Choirs on occasional Choral Evensong services. Rehearsals are Tuesdays, 4:00 – 5:15 p.m. and Wednesdays, 6:30 – 7:25 p.m.

The Girls Choir is the ensemble for 3rd – 8th grade girls that shares in choral worship leadership with boys and adults. The Girls Choir sings the weekly Evensong service on Wednesday nights and some Sunday Choral Evensong services in conjunction with the Boys and Sr. Girls Choirs. The girls sing sacred classical music at a very high standard. Rehearsals are Wednesday afternoons, 4:00 — 5:15 p.m. after which they vest for Evensong. Supper follows the service.

The Senior Girls Choir is an ensemble for teen women (9th — 12th grades) that shares with the other choirs in the choral leadership of services at St. John’s Church. High School students sing with the Parish Choir on Choral Evensong services as well as sing with the younger girls on Wednesday evenings. As older students, these singers have a special responsibility in mentoring the younger girls. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays, 6:30 — 7:30 p.m. (On occasion college-aged students continue with this ensemble.)
