Captain Jon Erwin spends time with the Middle School Classes

Last Sunday, October 14th:

Last Sunday, we had the privilege of having Captain Jon Erwin  speak to the Middle School and Confirmation classes.  Taking time out of his busy schedule before he deploys for Afghanistan, he arrived in uniform with a presentation about himself and life as a soldier.  He had stories, maps, and pictures.  He spoke to the students about:

•Do Soldiers get afraid?

•What does fear do for Soldiers?

•What would happen if Soldiers had no trust in God?

•How does God influence the actions of a Soldier?

–Morality in Decision-Making…good vs. evil

–Courage in Dangerous Situations

–Strength to Endure throughout tough and long deployments

The students were captivated and asked great questions.  Captain Erwin did a wonderful job.  We all enjoyed the time with him very much!

Over the next few months, the students will write and keep contact with Captain Erwin about his time serving God and our Country.  More importantly, they will pray for him and those with him.
Captivated!
